We didn’t really know where to start when choosing colours for the external painting of our double-storey house. We had looked at other houses and narrowed down a ‘look’ but the range of colour choices was overwhelming.
Rachel was highly recommended by a friend and so we engaged her to help us. Rachel took us through a process that felt really personalised and collaborative and we loved her passion and skill with creating fabulous colour combinations. We arrived at two great options that we then tested. But we found it hard to decide on a preferred colour scheme. With the painter about to start we needed to make a decision! Rachel came to the rescue with her calm, professional, can-do approach and quickly helped us find an alternative option that nailed it for both of us. And we are so happy with the result! Rachel is awesome and we can’t recommend her highly enough with the selection of colours.

When we arrived at the “colours selection” point of the building process, I was feeling really lost and confused.
It was quite overwhelming trying to figure out what went with what, and how colours and finishes would affect each other inside and out. I was facing the final colour selection appointment with our builder with very little clue about what I would be selecting!
I contacted Rachel for help on very short notice after seeing a personal recommendation from a previous client. Rachel was incredibly accommodating about fitting me in before my selection appointment with the builder, I had a 8mo in tow so that was greatly appreciated. She was easy to talk to and it was wonderful to sit down with someone who actually knew what they were talking about and who was honest but supportive about my ideas. I came away feeling so much more confident in my own taste and sense of style, and the “mood board” document Rachel provided following the consult was my bible that I referred to as I went through selecting finishes and fittings.
I feel like the whole house is much more cohesive and sophisticated than I could have achieved on my own, and our chat changed the way I am thinking about styling and furniture too. So worth it, thanks Rachel!

We’ve been renovating now for two years & prior to that for 4 years on our first property. I was SO over making anymore reno decisions & Rachel took all the hard decision making out of my mind!
Rachel was even happy to speak with my painter personally and double check technical details with Dulux’s customer service, putting everyone’s mind at ease. Painting has started this week with all of Rachel’s advice & I’m feeling such a sense of relief!

We recently underwent an extensive renovation of our single fronted Victorian cottage.
We used architects to design the interior of the home but really wanted to use a knowledgeable colour expert to help us choose the perfect colour for the exterior.

When we knocked down our house and started to rebuild, we had a very clear idea about what we wanted - light and bright - but no idea how to achieve it.
I saw Rachel talk at a local event, about how to choose the right white, and realised that I was out of my depth. Asking her to help us make these crucial choices has been one of the best decisions we have made in this very long process.
Rachel was very patient with our indecision over our coloured door and helped us select the perfect whites for our walls, cabinetry and splash back as well as our bench tops, tiles and carpet in addition to our exterior colours. She has been on hand to provide advice on other areas as well from curtains and blinds to answering a desperate SOS on a Sunday morning when there was an issue with our stone benches.

We can’t recommend Hello Colour highly enough for their assistance with our colour selections.
Firstly, the choice of a white and other colours was tricky enough for me to decide on, particularly matching in with existing timber, kitchen cupboards and our new flooring.
Secondly, because we had budget constraints, we needed to keep in mind that some colours would require an additional coat, and could significantly increase our cost. It was a balance between the perfect outcome and what we could afford. Rachel was very understanding of our situation.
Having Rachel there to speak with the painter was fantastic. She could delve deeper into his processes to make sure they were sound and ensure that he was on the right page with what we wanted to achieve.
We are so grateful that Rachel guided us through gently and she has added enormous value to our renovating process.

I came across Rachel as my partner and I just couldn’t imagine what the exterior of our new build would look like.
Rachel was fantastic in working through colour options, explaining the pro’s and con’s of different options and giving us ideas beyond what we had previously come up with. She worked within our brief and gave us three options to consider.
We are very happy with the final product and can start to visualise what our house may look like. Now the hard part – deciding our favourite!
